A great opportunity for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at the Defence Base Workshop at Irwin Barracks in Karrakatta WA. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles including 4WDs trucks tracked and armoured vehicles infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks!

About the role
Conduct Maintenance tasks including technical inspection and classification
Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines transmissions and differentials.
Reassemble test clean and adjust repaired or replaces parts
Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting ignition and electronic fuel injection
Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates
About you
Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level
Demonstrated experience to inspect repair and maintain Light Medium and Heavy vehicles
Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class HR Drivers License or be willing to obtain one.
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
