Position Summary
Lead the Engineering team for Hermetic Solutions in Asia overseeing product development projects that include design modifications testing sample builds design change control and design drafting. Provide engineering support for production and quality. Provide engineering support for production and quality assurance. Deliver product design training to the global engineering team ensuring that all product development activities align with relevant policies and company objectives.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead an Engineering Department and ensure all Company/department policy and procedures and sound engineering practices are followed.
- Train Product Engineers on Lean Design principles to the company.
- Manage project priority resources and schedule. Ensure project scope contents and results are appropriate to meet project objectives.
- Provide technical direction support and training to the engineering team. Act as mentor in Product Engineer Certification Program.
- Develop new products based on new technology and customer requirement in coordination with NPD groups and Sales/Marketing department.
- Develop and support projects on product improvement cost reduction and local/alternate sourcing.
- Maintain system for product design change control (ECN/TEC). Coordinate product part or process changes including test and approval with divisional engineering organizations.
- Support manufacturing process issues or improvement related to product design including non-conformance analysis.
- Establish and maintain laboratory and testing facilities in accordance with Division engineering standards.
- Manage local design drafting function to provide working drawings and specifications
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop and implement department procedures for effective and efficient operations. Promote best engineering practice.
- Support management in performance appraisal and career plan for individual engineers.
- Develop and coordinate external technical resources (consultants universities engineering companies etc.)
- Travel occasionally as required.
- Be familiar with the divisional Quality Policy and EHS Policy.
- Be familiar with Hazard Sources and Environmental Factors of your position and grasp all necessary EHS content.
- Grasp necessary EHS knowledge and carry out relevant EHS responsibilities of the position.
- Be familiar with the Induction Matrix of your position.
- Be familiar with the responsibility of ITC.
- Be familiar with the Record Retention Manual Electronic Media Policy & China Gift Policy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Be responsible for: Engineered Products HVAC Automotive (EV included) etc.
Position Requirements
- Bachelors degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
- Over 10 years of relevant work experience including 6 years in product development and at least 3 years in managerial role.
- Experience with glass to metal seal processes should be a must.
- Sound professional knowledge of engineering theory and design practices.
- Familiarity with project management principles Six Sigma and Lean methodologies are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication.
- Proficient in product design testing and application awareness of production process flow.
