PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Mechanical Engineer in the Power Team will undertake a range of power plant and waste-to-energy consulting assignments in the Asia region.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare design specifications and interface with clients providing technical advice on all aspects of power plant development including configuration options prime equipment selection BoP systems & components enabling infrastructure and considerations for project implementation
- Support clients technically through project feasibility project appraisals procurement evaluations contractor/vendor engineering project construction commissioning and performance testing
- Support proposal development drawing on WSPs regional and international network of support experts where needed
- Manage project technical delivery requirements
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master/Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical engineering
- At least 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the power sector ideally developed within a professional services/consulting environment
- Knowledgeable of gas turbines CC & CHP power plants and/or waste-to-energy plants the key technologies & components and project lifecycle considerations
- Experience with project management and project planning software tools
- Experience of working with public and private sector clients in the Asia region
- Knowledge of or the ambition to learn and develop expertise in renewable technologies such as Wind Solar and BESS
- Knowledge of or the ambition to learn and develop expertise in fuels such; as biofuel hydrogen ammonia etc.
- Experience with design software such as GTPro CFD PVsys WAsP etc. would be advantageous
