Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports To: Operations Manager
Direct reports: None
Key relationships: All Departments Suppliers Customers
Role Purpose:
The Manufacturing Engineer will assist in developing and improving the manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. They will work with the production staff/management team to maximize workflow and spatial utilization. They will apply the fundamentals of science and math to create practical useful solutions that will improve our efficiency quality and safety throughout the facility.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in a STEM field and/or 5-7 years in manufacturing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Lean Principles
  • Proficient in MCAD and SolidWorks Software
  • Experience using Machine Tooling
  • Thorough understanding of ERP systems and inventory processes
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel and Word
  • Strong problem-solving skills with knowledge in statistics and six sigma and data management

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with project team to ensure on-time project completion.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
  • Work with production personnel to establish an effective and efficient work sequence for all product lines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead the efforts of time studies to determine and reduce Labor costs for new and existing products.
  • Design and implement fixtures to aid in proper production manufacturing and quality control testing.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing to eliminate waste (Scrap) improve quality (PPM) reduce production time (Efficiency) and reduce costs of manufacturing (Labor Costs).
  • Utilize Six Sigma techniques to define measure analyze improve and control any Vista manufacturing or business process.
  • Design and develop Operations and Routing Steps for new product and existing products.
  • Create Vista work instructions for every new product and improve existing work instructions.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues.
  • Manage ESD Controls for the entire facility.
  • Support departmental budget and capital expenditure programs.
  • Follow all requirements to supportVista Quality Objectives.
