Job Description

The future starts here! Ready to join NXP

Your Team

Powering a smarter world is our mission and we execute it by developing power conversion systems using state-of-the-art solutions and generating innovative concepts for better efficiency lower cost and smaller form factors. We are the market leader in resonant AC-DC converters (used in PC game console and TV set power supplies) and are expanding further into the automotive onboard charging and high-voltage DC-DC conversion space.

Context

As our systems grow in complexityparticularly with the integration of analog and digital componentssimulation and verification become increasingly demanding. Traditional methods often struggle to handle the scale and intricacy of mixed signal designs where large volumes of simulation data and cross-domain interactions make manual analysis and checker development both time-consuming and error-prone. This internship aims to address these challenges by applying AI/ML techniques with goal to reduce manual effort streamline verification and establish a scalable foundation for broader AI/ML adoption in future design and verification flows.

Your Responsibilities and Tasks

The objective of this internship is to explore the application of AI/ML in mixed signal design verification by first researching and defining a suitable framework by identifying the key components models and tools required to build an AI/ML-driven verification environment. Next phase of this internship will be to develop a proof-of-concept (PoC) specifically demonstrating waveform debugging and anomaly detection. This work will lay the groundwork for scalable AI/ML integration into future verification flows.

Scope of Work:

  • Research & Tooling:
Investigate AI/ML models and tools suitable for analyzing EDA simulation data.

  • Environment Design & Implementation:
Define and build a workflow for an AI/ML-based verification environment covering automation data analysis EDA toolchain integration and knowledge base setup.

  • Proof-of-Concept (PoC):
Develop and validate a PoC for waveform debugging and anomaly detection in mixed signal design using AI/ML. Deliver a working script/tool with documentation followed by a roadmap for broader application of the AI/ML environment.

  • Presentation & Knowledge Sharing:
Prepare and deliver a presentation(with demo) to the wider team summarizing key findings methodology PoC results and recommendations.

Whats in it for you

  • A great opportunity to develop your skills (technical soft skills communication etc.)

  • Gaining experience in a multinational and diverse environment

  • Possibility to become part of NXPs Young Professional Talent Pool

  • Working on real assignments which contribute to NXPs objectives

Your Profile

  • Master of Science - last year of engineer school computer science data science and AI systems electronic engineering embedded systems or related fields.

  • Working knowledge with AI/ML concepts and applications.

  • Optional familiarity with mixed signal design EDA tools and basic

  • Programming skills as Python MATLAB or similar related to AI/ML

  • Creative mindset with strong mathematical foundation.

Duration

This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) with a duration of 6 months or longer. The assignment is also suitable as a thesis/graduation project. Please note that in order to be considered for an internship/working student assignment you need to be registered as a student during the entire period.
