09The Role: Associate Price Reporter Chemicals
The Associate Price Reporter is the price reporter and pricing specialist covering Platts suite of prices news and analysis of the chemical and polymer markets.

You will assist in identifying developing and executing assessment opportunities to drive growth in chemical markets.
Responsibilities: The Associate Price Reporter is responsible for reporting on daily physical trading activity to produce prices by gathering information from a range of contacts in the market writing daily commentaries explaining the trends driving prices creating real-time news stories and participating in multi-media coverage such as webinars and presentations including representing Commodity Insights at industry events.
The reporter is also responsible for engaging with market participants while building and managing a database of industry contacts. The reporter also identifies opportunities to refine methodology research new markets develop contacts within those markets and launch new price assessments with the goal to advance growth in the Chemicals team.

Required Skills:
BA degree or higher
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities internally and externally
Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills
Research abilities
Ability to perform well to tight deadlines
Excellent English speaking and writing skills
Culturally and socially sensitive
Preferred Qualifications:
We are looking to hire candidates with two to five years reporting/writing/analytical/editorial/industry experience. We are happy to consider candidates with less experience as we are looking to hire for a number of roles.
Experience or knowledge of the chemicals polymer or refining sectors or a keen interest in commodities and global commodity markets
Knowledge of economic principles
Strong numeracy skills including ability to understand the basic principles of statistics and to apply basic math functions in Excel
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese Hindi Japanese Korean Vietnamese Indonesian Arabic or other regionally important languages is an advantage
