Job Description

Were seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager to drive strategic initiatives for Amazons Japan Books business through data-driven decision making and cross-functional this role youll identify and pursue high-impact opportunities that shape the future of digital and physical books in Japan.



Key job responsibilities
Lead strategic analysis of customer behavior market trends and competitive landscape to identify multi-year growth opportunities across the Japan books organisation
Develop comprehensive business cases and execution roadmaps for major strategic initiatives including financial modeling and resource planning
Build and maintain strong partnerships with global Books leadership Japan retail teams Kindle Publishing and other key stakeholders to align on priorities and drive execution
Define and implement frameworks for opportunity assessment and initiative prioritization
Mentor product managers and influence product strategy across multiple teams
Stay ahead of emerging technologies and consumer trends that could impact the books industry
Partner with data science and analytics teams to develop deeper customer insights and identify untapped opportunities

This role will have significant impact on the future of Amazons Books business in Japan and requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution while navigating a complex stakeholder landscape.

- 10 years of product or program management product marketing business development or technology experience
- 10 years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation standardization and improvement experience
- Bachelors degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery

- MBA or advanced degree
- Experience in books publishing or digital content industries
- Prior experience working in Japan
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling new business initiatives
