Job Description

What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is seeking a Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Associate Professional in our Pleasanton CA office. You will provide sustainability analysis regulatory compliance guidance and outreach support for private and public clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented motivated and eager to grow professionally while helping clients improve waste reduction recycling composting and special waste programs. At this level you should begin exercising independent judgment and be able to complete assignments with less direct supervision. You will work out of our Pleasanton office and have the opportunity to work hybrid.

How you can make an impact

  • Plan organize and coordinate sustainable development activities and programs.

  • Conduct waste audits and characterization studies to assess diversion programs.

  • Evaluate client programs for regulatory compliance and recommend improvements.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of recycling and waste programs.

  • Train and educate clients on sustainability initiatives and compliance.

  • Analyze and validate data for reports regulatory submissions and decision-making.

  • Prepare client-facing proposals reports and outreach materials.

  • Coordinate with contractors subcontractors and clients to meet objectives.

  • Stay current on regulations advising clients on new or revised requirements.

  • Develop sustainability messaging promotional material and stakeholder communication.

  • Participate in health and safety training and review technical documents for compliance.

  • Travel as needed for audits client meetings and program support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Science required
  • Minimum 3 months of relevant engineering internship work and/or research experience required
  • Valid Drivers License with a driving record in good standing required

Pay Range

USD $69000.00 - USD $70000.00 /Yr.
