Job Summary
With multiple awards to our name Larian Studios has proven that were dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games As we move on to new projects the studio that brought you Baldurs Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Language Manager (German) to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.
This role is awarded as a 2 year Fixed Term Contract.
Responsibilities
- Own the quality of the German translations
- Translates in-game text voice scripts marketing and PR content as required to support products and services through development launch and beyond
- Creates and maintains translation memories glossaries and style guides
- Provides cultural and creative input regarding the localization of Larian products into the target region
- Maintains awareness of the games industry in the target market and communicates trends to relevant stakeholders
- Develops and builds strong relationships with relevant stakeholders in an effort to resolve questions or conflicts related to terminology language quality and workflow
- Playtests to confirm in-game text context for accurate translation
- Collaborates with external localization vendors to improve the language quality
Requirements
- 2 years of experience or more localizing video games
- Strong writing and editing skills in German
- Fluent in English
- Experience localizing time-delimited dialogues
- Experience with CAT Tools memoQ is a plus
Nice to Haves
- At least one AAA game shipped
- Experience with voice acting casting
- Experience with Confluence and JIRA
