Job Description
Import Specialist - TCRS4550
HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Import Specialist supports the timely flow of international shipments as the liaison between the logistics and compliance departments of a mid-size 3PL based near Detroit Michigan.
This is a 100% in-office position.
EXPECTATIONS
- Track and trace shipments with carriers across all modes of transportation
- Arrange shipment movement with carriers as needed
- Obtain required shipping documents and determine services needed and charges due
- Use customer master file to ensure customer instructions and processes are followed
- Keep internal and external partners/customers informed of shipment status
- Prepare and process import documents; process billing invoices ensure accurate record keeping
- Ability to work well in high pressure situations and adjust to changing environments
ESSENTIALS
- High school diploma required Bachelors degree preferred
- 23 years of experience working in international logistics and/or customs brokers operations
- Solid understanding of import entry process with CBP and other government agencies
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail
