The Hunt School of Nursing at Gardner-Webb University invites applications for a full-time 9-month nursing faculty position.
Faculty rank (Instructor or Assistant) and tenure-track eligibility will be determined based on qualifications and experience as set forth by the GWU Faculty Handbook.
This campus-based position includes online and face-to-face teaching responsibilities across nursing programs including prelicensure (ASN BSN ABSN) RN to BSN Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching mentoring and supporting student success while contributing to excellence in nursing education.
Responsibilities:
The position holds faculty status and is entitled to all associated rights and responsibilities within the Hunt School of Nursing. Responsibilities include teaching and managing nursing courses collaborating on course revisions to meet program and university standards identifying resource needs for quality education and ensuring efficient communication and operations within the school and university. Additional responsibilities include advising students and contributing service to the University the Hunt School of Nursing (HSON) and the community. Based on qualifications and experience the faculty member may collaborate with graduate nursing students in the development of thesis practicum and projects.
The Hunt School of Nursing is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and offers a range of programs including the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Accelerated BSN (ABSN) pre-licensure programs as well as an online RN-BSN completion program. The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program offers concentrations in Nursing Education Nursing Administration and a dual Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration (MSN/MBA). The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program includes post-MSN entry and post-BSN entry for Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Required Credentials:
Terminal Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
If terminal degree in a different discipline must have a Master of Science Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
Required Qualifications:
Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina a compact state or be eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
Minimum of two years employment in direct client care as a Registered Nurse.
Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching in higher education.
Experience in curriculum development and the accreditation process.
To be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher candidates must hold a terminal degree.
Preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education including curriculum development implementation and evaluation. Applicants without this preparation may complete the required coursework within 3 years from time of employment.
