Job Description

POSITION: Arlington Community Education (ACE) Programs Coordinator

JOB GOALS:

This is a full-time/year-round position working closely with the ACE Director to develop high-quality enrichment programs for adults and children.

ACE offers hundreds of classes and special events each year that respond to the community needs and interests of children adults and families in Arlington and surrounding communities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic flexible self-motivated individual. Candidate should also possess:

  • Bachelors or higher degree
  • Past experience in program development; knowledge of community ed/recreation programming a plus
  • Excellent writing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Seasoned networker and connector
  • Organized attention to detail with the ability to multi-task create and adhere to timelines
  • Highly flexible able to adapt to last-minute changes while remaining calm under pressure
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact with students instructors and/or staff in a team environment
  • A sense of humor and the ability to work closely with others in a small fast-paced office are pluses

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions and duties listed below are intended as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar related or a logical assignment to the position.

Program Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research and develop new class ideas and recruit instructors for youth family and adult programs for four terms per year
  • Manage relationships and coordinate class details with a high volume of instructors/vendors
  • Network with local organizations/ businesses to increase visibility and generate programs
  • Program implementation and monitoring
  • Work closely with Operations and Student Services Coordinators to execute classes
  • Assist with catalog writing and editing
  • Collect and analyze data; maintain program/project records
  • Where needed provide staffing support for evening vacation and summer programs

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Year Full-Time (1.0 FTE 35 hours per week). Some evening and weekend hours as necessary. This position works during the February and April school vacation weeks and all summer.

REPORTS TO: Director of Arlington Community Education

SALARY & BENEFITS: $55000-$61000

Compensation: This position is eligible for health and other insurance and town retirement; sick personal and vacation days are earned proportionate to hours worked.
