Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Maintain current state Permit to Practice Radiation Therapy (or equivalent) including 24 hours of continuing education every two years
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
General Summary:
The Radiation Therapist works under the supervision of the Radiation Therapy Manager and supports the Radiation Oncologist in simulation processes administering prescribed radiation treatments and monitoring patients progress and side effects. Regular attendance is required. Additional duties may be assigned.
Supervision:
Reports to Radiation Therapy Manager
No supervisory responsibilities
Operate radiation therapy equipment and complete necessary warm-up and quality assurance procedures
Ensure equipment is maintained in excellent working condition through daily QA checks
Deliver prescribed radiation treatments and maintain detailed treatment records
Monitor patients for treatment progress and adverse effects
Adapt to varying workloads and shift schedules as needed
Maintain licensure and complete all mandatory training and meetings
Demonstrate strong organizational skills by following through on tasks and prioritizing effectively
Perform CT simulation procedures as required
Other duties as assigned
Strong knowledge of anatomy physiology clinical oncology radiobiology radiation physics and radiation safety
Familiarity with radiotherapy treatment delivery including basic dosimetry and isodose planning
Understanding of CT simulation procedures
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Basic computer literacy and experience with radiation oncology software
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Customer service orientation
Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program required
Preferred: Two years of experience as a radiation therapist
Registered with ARRT
Maintain current state Permit to Practice Radiation Therapy with continuing education requirements
Current BCLS certification
