We are currently on the search for a Placement Specialist to join our Employability Team who will be responsible for placing our students in internship or employment opportunities during and post study. This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career!

The Placement Specialist position is a newly created role within the Employability Team and we are on the lookout for a candidate with proven experience who will be able to hit the ground running. This role is a full-time Permanent position based at our Auckland International Campus in Auckland City. This role will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with employers for internship opportunities or employment
  • Attending industry events to expand employer network focusing on high-quality placements
  • Utilising professional networks to identify and engage with potential industry partners and create new student opportunities
  • Aligning internship and career opportunities with student studies and market demands
  • Preparing all allocated students for interviews and placements
  • Visiting and assess the internship site to meet the internship requirements
  • Implementing a mentorship program linking students with professionals in their field
  • Facilitating an Alumni Mentor Program pairing students with alumni mentors relevant to their field of study

Skills and Experience Ng pkenga me ng wheako

  • A bachelors degree or higher relevant to the role is essential
  • Demonstrated experience in careers guidance and employability services including coaching or mentoring
  • Knowledge of tertiary education sector and employability challenges
  • Strong ability to facilitate and organise networking events and career fairs is favourable
  • Proven ability to engage establish and maintain professional networks within Auckland
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in using various software; using CRM system is desirable
