Babcock is proud to work alongside the Government of Manitoba to deliver their wildfire suppression services as well as key components of their critical fixed-wing air ambulance services. Babcock is now in the process of establishing its a Rotary Wing division. Babcock will be providing engineering support to Ascent Helicopters as they deliver the vital life-saving aero-medical operations to the Government of British Columbia.

Babcock is looking to expand its Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) to include AW169 maintenance are currently recruiting for a Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) to be based in Parksville and Vanvouver British Columbia. All AMEs will be responsible to Crew Chief for the completion of the maintenance and repair tasks assigned to them.
In this role you will:
- Manage activities relating to the Quality Assurance Program.
- Monitor Babcock minimum standards for conformance.
- Report findings of non-conformance made under the Quality Assurance Program to the QA Manager and keep a record of those findings and any corrective actions taken as a result of those findings.
- Distribute through the QA Manager findings of non-conformance made under the Quality Assurance Program to the appropriate manager for corrective action.
- Monitor the corrective action plans and follow-up actions for findings of non-conformance made under the Quality Assurance Program ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and are effective.
- Monitor all technical and regulatory data including company procedures processes forms and other documents and the MPM ensuring they remain current and effective.
- Monitor the system which ensures precision tools measuring devices and test equipment are calibrated and that the records of calibration are maintained.
- Ensure maintenance records service difficulty reports and internal audit reports are completed and processed in accordance with the MPM.
- Monitor the company training program ensuring all aspects remain current and effective.
- Monitor personnel training records ensuring they remain current.
- Monitor Certificating Authority and the records of those authorizations in accordance with the MPM.
- Monitor for compliance with the MPM and regulatory requirements all activities carried out by the company.
- Work in Co-operation with operational and maintenance managers to monitor and assess concerns raised under the Quality Assurance program regarding their effect on the company.
- Travel throughout Canada as required to ensure the Quality Program is maintained.
- Provide training as required.
- Undertake other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate:
- Previous auditor experience / training would be an asset.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills including writing formal reports and making presentations.
- You are eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and ITAR Clearance.
- Meet all requirements of CAR 573.03(1)(c) and subsection 573.03(6). would be an asset
- Hold a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license. would be an asset
- Have demonstrated experience working on CAMP Winair or other similar maintenance programs.
- Have good organizational skills.
- Is proficient in English written and spoken.
- Have the physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods.
- Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
- Have physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces.
- The ability and willingness to undertake shift work.
- Have the right to work in Canada and/or have or can obtain a Canadian passport.
- Holds a valid drivers license.
