We are looking for a Research Fellow on the design synthesis and applications of nanomaterials. The role will focus on providing strategic leadership and expertise in the synthesis and characterization of advanced nanomaterials specifically focusing on the integration of machine learning wafer-scale synthesis of materials and high-throughput experimentation. The role will contribute to the universitys research mission by conducting fundamental research helping secure external funding mentoring junior researchers and fostering collaborations to advance the field of materials science and its applications in next-generation electronic devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead research projects focused on the design synthesis and applications of nanomaterials.
Programme and manage research activities including experimental design data analysis and interpretation ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Develop and implement machine learning-driven approaches for material design predictive synthesis optimization and high-throughput data analysis.
Develop novel synthetic methodologies and characterization approaches for advanced nanomaterials leading to high-impact publications and potential technological applications.
Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers providing guidance on research techniques data analysis and scientific writing.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on interdisciplinary research projects leveraging expertise in materials synthesis characterization and device fabrication.
Disseminate research findings through high-impact publications presentations at international conferences and engagement with the scientific community.
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. in Physics Materials Science or a related field
Extensive experience in the controllable synthesis of nanomaterials.
Expertise in machine learning-assisted materials design and process optimization.
Expertise in the characterization of nanomaterials using various techniques including OM SEM TEM XRD AFM and XPS.
Proven ability to design and develop automated customized synthesis equipment for high-throughput nanomaterial fabrication.
Familiarity with in-situ characterization and theoretical simulations.
Familiarity with FET device fabrication and characterization.
Strong record of publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Experience presenting research findings at international conferences.
Required Skills:
Advanced materials synthesis (particularly chemical vapor deposition).
Nanomaterial characterization (OM SEM TEM XRD AFM XPS).
Machine learning methods.
High-throughput experiment design and data analysis.
Scientific writing and communication.
Data processing and visualization software (CrystalMaker DigitalMicrograph VESTA Origin et al.)
Mentoring and collaboration.
