Job Title:Principal Engineer- Highways Development Management
Salary:per annum
Grade:G
Contract Type:Permanent
Working Hours:37 hours per week

The Highways Department is responsible for the development and implementation of a range of key transport related projects and policies ranging from development of Thurrocks Local Plan through to highways improvement schemes to development of key transport policy

The post is within the Highways Development Management that is responsible for:

  • The development and implementation of new transport infrastructure schemes
  • The development of the future highway improvement programme for the Local Plan
  • Transportation Policy development
  • Planning advice for new development

The post holder will join a busy and dynamic working environment as Principal Engineer responsible for the leading of a team to fulfil the delivery of key targets. Ensuring development proposals take place with adequate transport infrastructure to enable continued growth and compliance with the Councils corporate objectives and policies.

About the Role

As aPrincipal Engineer you willbe responsible for:

  • The management of the Highways Development Team
  • Providing expert advice for planning service
  • Highways adoptions
  • Development of Highways & Transport related Policy

WhatWereLooking For

Werelooking for someone who has:

  • Ability to assess complex reports and Transport Assessments
  • Provide expert advice both verbally and in written form
  • At least 5 years experience at a senior level of Transport planning and/or development management

Essential qualifications:Relevant vocational qualifications (MSc / BEng / BSc / HNC and HND or equivalent)
DBS Check:not required
