Job Description

Litigation Paralegal

A well-established Florida defense firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with 5 years of Insurance Defense experience preferably with a background in Medical Malpractice claims. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality billable work that supports both clients and attorneys while managing a demanding caseload.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Obtain and manage client documents including electronic data; identify relevant case materials.
  • Conduct litigation criminal and civil background checks; secure properly authenticated records.
  • Prepare all documents for production including bates labeling and redaction for privilege/confidentiality.
  • Assist with trial preparation including exhibits witness lists subpoenas and attendance at witness prep meetings and trial.
  • Perform online research and effectively utilize electronic firm resources.
  • Summarize medical records bills and supporting documents; prepare medical chronologies and bill summaries.
  • Communicate with clients carriers and counsel in a professional team environment.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses including qualifications review selection retention and serving as liaison.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of vendor invoices; submit to Accounting for timely processing.

  • Customer Service: Promptly responds to attorney and client requests; meets commitments.

  • Professionalism: Maintains tact respect and composure under pressure.
  • Teamwork: Contributes to a positive team environment; supports colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in basic PC functions and office equipment (phones copiers scanners printers).

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Florida Registered Paralegal (preferred).
  • Trial experience (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience required.
