A Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to inmates within a correctional facility including administering medications monitoring vital signs and assisting with medical procedures. They also play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both inmates and staff collaborating with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals
- Administering medications performing basic medical procedures monitoring patient health and providing basic wound care.
- Responding to medical emergencies providing first aid and assisting in crisis situations.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for all inmates under their care.
- Working with a multidisciplinary team including physicians registered nurses and correctional officers to provide comprehensive care.
