Job Description
The Senior Tax Filing Analyst will oversee the administration of tax filings and notice resolution with government tax agencies. This role supports the Tax Filing Shared Services team addressing escalations and ensuring timely accurate resolutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate clients and provide subject matter expertise on payroll tax filing and notice resolution.
- Research compliance and regulatory issues and provide timely support.
- Identify and recommend process improvements supporting changes as needed.
- Problem-solve using payroll tax knowledge and experience.
- Calculate Penalties & Interest (P&I) and prepare abatement letter requests.
- Research and resolve payroll tax notices including abatement requests root cause analysis and prevention measures.
- Mentor and support colleagues on tax-related matters.
- Manage tax filing suppliers to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Review and approve work checklists addressing escalations when needed.
- Perform variance analysis and control escalation points.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal partners regarding operations and tax issue resolution.
- Work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Apply payroll tax expertise to notice resolution and process improvement initiatives.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma and minimum 3 years tax filing experience.
- 2 years of payroll tax filing experience.
- 2 years experience with tax filing software (Master Tax highly preferred; ADP Smart Compliance desired).
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables v-lookups macros etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
