Job Description

The Triage & Business Support Coordinator is a pivotal support role within the Investigations and Compliance Unit designed to support the streamlining of decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. This person ensures that referrals and cases are assessed consistently transparently and in line with NHVRs risk-based frameworks.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Panel Coordination: Manage the Triage and N.F.A. (No Further Action) panels ensuring timely dissemination of materials and consistent decision-making.
  • Referral Management: Receive and prepare incoming case referrals.
  • Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate records of panel decisions and ensure everything is logged in case management systems.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular updates and insights to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Escalation: Flag high-risk or complex matters to the Director of Investigations.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with correspondence document management and internal/external meeting coordination.

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail and sound judgment
  • Proficiency in business systems and case management tools (e.g. Objective i2 Microsoft)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as the national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. The NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry reduces duplication and inconsistences across state and territory borders and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.
