General Summary:
The Program Manager under direction plans organizes directs and manages day-to-day activities developing and implementing procedures for the administration of a grant program. Position will work on campus as well as remotely/in the field. Some evening and weekend work is also required.
This is a temporary position in which the appointment expires 1 year from the start date
Responsibilities:
- Plans organizes directs and manages day-to-day activities developing and implementing procedures for administration of the grant program. Develops and conduct programs including leadership training professional development and workshops. Attends conferences and seminars. May supervise program support staff and student assistants
- Assists in developing planning coordinating directing and monitoring strategic plans and goals to support program and meet goals and objectives. Monitors and maintains compliance with regulatory bodies policies and procedures. Develops implements coordinates and evaluates programs and assists with related projects.
- Assists with the development and production of materials designed for the program.
- Researches develops and writes white papers grant applications and prepares presentations. Maintains and develops communications between partners by attending meetings and conference calls.
- Assists with yearly budgetary and contract processes. Prepares vouchers purchase orders and requisition and coordinate with accounting personnel and other support staff as needed.
- Handles special projects including community and national days of service and other duties as assigned.
- Maintains 100% compliance with timely completion of required System University and job- specific online training courses.

Necessary Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years of related experience in program development program management teaching education advising or a similar field.
- Position requires superior organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a professional fast-paced environment with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Must be a disciplined self-starter who is goal-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Ability to synthesize data and compile reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Previous training management and budget experience.
- Experience with state and federal grants and programs preferred.
- Community outreach and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM Datatel/Colleague or similar software.
- Knowledge of non-profit management.
- Knowledge of career planning labor market and workforce development.
- Basic knowledge of risk & compliance.
- Knowledge of High Plains/Texas Panhandle region demographics and issues facing rural and micropolitan communities.
