Job Description Summary
Lincoln Land Community College is seeking a passionate professional to help students reach their full potential! The Retention Specialist will implement specific components of the Student Support Services program and ensure that overall goals and objectives are met. They will also provide counseling advising course selection assistance and instructional services as is necessary to meet individual goals. As a staff member at LLCC you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days 15 sick days and starting with 15 vacation days per year. LLCC staff their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses. Staff can also enjoy free access to our on-campus fitness center. This is a grant-funded position. Funding for this position has been secured through 8/31/30. Starting salary is likely to be between $51911 and $60250 per year with an excellent benefits package. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree. One year of experience in a community college or other similar educational institution. Demonstrated experience knowledge and sensitivity to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and work collaboratively. Demonstrated ability to supervise student employees including hiring and training. Background and experience with student retention theory and practices. Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Educational Administration Student Personnel Administration Counseling or closely related field. Background and experience with student services functions such as advising career exploration and financial aid. Background similar to the target population/participants. Prior experience in working with TRIO projects or similar programs.
