This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst and Incident Responder. The incumbent supports the Cyber Threat Intel Branch Chief. The Analyst conducts comprehensive research and analysis of cyber threat actors their tactics techniques and procedures (TTPs) and emerging trends in the cyber threat landscape. Monitors and assesses global cyber threats vulnerabilities and incidents to identify potential risks and their potential impact on the organization. This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Public Safety. This position is located at 1636 Gold Star Dr Raleigh NC 27607.
tools and techniques to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of cyber threat intelligence operations. Conducts regular threat assessments and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommends appropriate countermeasures. Collaborates with internal teams including security operations incident response and risk management to provide timely and actionable cyber threat intelligence.
Develops and maintains threat intelligence reports briefings and alerts to disseminate to key stakeholders enabling proactive decision-making and risk mitigation strategies. Identifies indicators of compromise (IOCs) and develops and implements techniques for their detection analysis and sharing with relevant partners and information sharing communities. Participates in intelligence-sharing forums conferences and industry
working groups to stay updated on the latest threat intelligence practices and contribute to the collective knowledge. Assists in the development and execution of incident response plans providing cyber threat intelligence insights and guidance during cyber incidents. Assists cyber team during incident response missions. Ensures proper security procedures are implemented after an attack. Validates use of industry best practices to

Bachelors degree in computer science computer information systems computer science engineering or a closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in operations/systems work or closely related area; or Associate degree in computer information technology computer engineering technology or networking technology from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in operations/systems work or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
