Job Description

Job Responsibilities: - Assess and address student health needs including acute and chronic conditions.- Provide direct care for illness injury and medical procedures within the scope of school nursing.- Administer medications and perform health care procedures as ordered.- Respond to medical emergencies throughout the school and grounds carrying necessary emergency supplies.- Communicate with students parents and caregivers regarding health concerns and necessary follow-ups.- Develop and implement Individual Health Care Plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans as needed.- Ensure compliance with immunization requirements and manage student health records.- Delegate care appropriately providing necessary training and oversight.- Maintain inventory of health supplies and recommend necessary purchases.- Support student participation in field trips by attending or arranging nursing coverage.- Monitor health trends and report communicable diseases as required.- Collaborate with school staff and participate in team meetings as needed.
