Job Summary:
The Warehouse & Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt storage inventory control order fulfillment and distribution of goods. This role ensures that warehouse operations are organized accurate compliant with safety regulations and aligned with company quality and service standards. The Warehouse & Shipping Manager works closely with purchasing production sales and customer service teams to ensure on-time accurate deliveries that meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management Direct and coordinate all warehouse activities including receiving storage inventory accuracy picking packing and shipping.
Shipping & Logistics Coordination Plan and oversee outbound shipments ensuring timely dispatch and cost-effective freight arrangements.
Inventory Control Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts reconciliations and proactive stock management to prevent shortages or overages.
Staff Leadership Recruit train supervise and evaluate warehouse personnel; set clear performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability safety and continuous improvement.
Process Optimization Develop and implement procedures to improve workflow efficiency reduce errors and maximize productivity.
Compliance & Safety Ensure operations comply with OSHA DOT and other applicable regulations; maintain a clean organized and hazard-free warehouse environment.
Reporting & Metrics Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time shipments inventory accuracy order fulfillment rates and shipping costs; prepare regular reports for management.
Vendor & Carrier Management Negotiate and maintain relationships with carriers freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers to ensure competitive rates and reliable service.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in supply chain management logistics business administration or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
5 years of warehouse logistics or distribution experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) ERP systems and shipping software.
Proven ability to manage budgets optimize costs and improve operational efficiency.
Knowledge of shipping regulations freight classifications and export/import documentation.
Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
Work Environment:
Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
Requires frequent standing walking bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Office work for planning reporting and administrative tasks.
May require occasional overtime or weekend work during peak demand periods.
The work environment will be a mix of a typical office environment a manufacturing floor and a construction level: Normal office manufacturing and construction noises.
