Job Description
Saylor Consulting Group is a construction consulting firm providing expertise in the areas of construction management cost management project controls and value management. We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Cost Estimator to join our team to work on high profile $20 million to $1 billion programs on work throughout California spanning sectors including aviation transit water and utility work and public facilities construction.
Daily Duties
- Prepare accurate construction and project cost estimates from conceptual design through closeout
- Obtain quotes for materials and equipment
- Provide support in price negotiations and reconciliations
- Provide and submit alternates and cost savings ideas to the proposed electrical systems
- Review field change orders for quantities material take-off and compliance with current material pricing current labor rates and contract mark ups.
- Prepare and maintain projects historic costs and data for budgeting and references.
- Provide training to junior estimators for the electrical systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10 years job experience estimating a variety of building types (for example: office medical aviation educational etc.) with projects in excess of $5M.
- B.S. in Architecture Engineering Construction Management/Quantity Surveying or related field preferred
- Ability to work effectively with engineers and owners;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel;
- Excellent take off skills with OST Bluebeam Timberline Revit or similar software.
- Ability to work onsite at our San Francisco office and/or available to travel per client requirements as needed.
