Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-time Finance Assistant to join our small Finance team.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of bookkeeping and accounts in general and will have already worked in a similar role. You will preferably hold Level 3 AAT qualification or above.
Key responsibilities:
The substantive postholder therefore should (ensure that):
- Accurate records are kept for all daily transactions making sure they are coded to the appropriate ledger code
- Work collaboratively with other departments/staff
- Maintain Accounts Payable records and ensure all Suppliers Statement agrees with unpaid invoice
- Suppliers and Partners invoices & wires are entered to the system and paid accurately and on a timely basis.
- Reconcile all Bank accounts processing all bank charges and other service charges
- Staff Expense Reports have all supporting documents and signed before reimbursements.
- All payments are made subject to adequate supporting documents and availability of funds
- Accrue for all expenses that are due in the month the service is provided if not paid
- Ensure jobs are completed within required timescales or if it cannot be achieved then ensure that is communicated as soon as possible
- Assisting in keeping accurate record of fixed asset register ensuring that monthly depreciation is calculated & posted to the system correctly
- Supporting with the donation income processing if required
- Perform any other task that is deemed necessary by the Finance Director
Skills and Experience required:
- AAT Level 3 or above - essential
- At least 2 years experience in Finance
- Experience with QuickBooks and/or other accounting software
- Competent in using Excel advanced knowledge essential
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
