Job Description
Job Title: Barnstable High School Band Assistant Fall Color Guard Instructor
Position Summary:
The Barnstable High School Band is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Color Guard Instructor to support the activities and growth of the Color Guard and Dance within our music program. The Assistant Instructor will work closely with the Color Guard Instructor to provide instruction guidance and mentorship to students helping them develop their skills and confidence in color guard and dance performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing the curriculum and choreography for the Color Guard and Dance under the guidance of the Color Guard Instructor.
- Support individual students in learning routines techniques and skills necessary for successful color guard and dance performances.
- Collaborate with the Color Guard Instructor to coordinate rehearsals performances and events involving the Color Guard and Dance.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages teamwork respect and diversity among all Color Guard and Dance Team members.
- Provide feedback and support to students to help them improve their performance and reach their full potential.
- Assist with ensuring the safety and well-being of students during rehearsals performances and other Color Guard and Dance activities.
- Communicate regularly with students parents and other staff members to provide updates on the progress and achievements of the Color Guard.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in color guard and dance instruction.
Qualifications:
- Experience in color guard dance or related disciplines (preferred)
- Passion for working with students and helping them develop their talents and skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students instructors and other stakeholders
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity diversity and respect within the Music Program
REPORTS TO: Principal/Music Department Head
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Contract
Stipend: Per Contract ($1404)
