We are currently seeking a Product Analytics Engineer in Virginia Beach Virginia. The Analytics Engineer turns product data into insights to support new product development continuous product improvement productivity enhancements and condition monitoring. Please note relocation is not offered for this position.

What You Will Do:

  • Gather and analyze client/project requirements to understand needs
  • Find/collect product and supporting data required for client requests/projects
  • Analysis of data or development of algorithms using different tools/methods available to provide insights to client or objective of project
  • Presentation/Communication/Visualization of results and collaborate with client/project lead to ensure requirements have been met
  • Other duties as assigned

Degree Requirement:


Requires a degree in an accredited Mechanical or Mechanical Engineering Technology curriculum.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Must be self-motivated collaborative professional engaged confident and accountable
  • Technical understanding mechanical diesel engine electrical systems electronic control systems or generators a plus. (tie what you are creating to the real world)
  • Experience with Grafana Labs
  • Test engineering experience in large batches of data/telemetry a plus
  • Demonstrated real world coding experience in Python and SQL

What You Have Skills Knowledge & Experiences:

Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of a specific domain its current trends directions and regulatory considerations; ability to apply domain specific knowledge to relevant situations.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Summary Pay Range:

$87480.00 - $131280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
