Primary ObjectivesThe Manager-Fixed Assets is a professional staff member responsible for providing support to the Controller-Tribal Government and the Tribes Chief Financial Officer. The Manager-Fixed Assets is responsible for supporting the oversight management and tracking of tribal government-owned assets including trackable inventory land buildings equipment natural resources and investments. The Manager-Fixed Assets ensures that tribal assets are properly recorded monitored and maintained in alignment with the Tribes strategic goals cultural values and long-term sustainability efforts. The Manager-Fixed Assets works under the guidance of tribal leadership and collaborates with departments to ensure accurate record-keeping asset maintenance and compliance. The Manager-Fixed Assets will work closely with tribal leadership departments and community stakeholders to ensure transparency accountability and effective asset stewardship. Essential Functions- Strategic planning and development of the Tribes asset management framework.
- Ability to develop and establish fixed assets and all related policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB-34) reporting requirements is desired (is this applicable for Poarch)
- Collaborates with Risk Management/Insurance department (designee) to ensure new assets and disposed Fixed Assets are updated on the insurances schedule.
- Accountability for long-term asset sustainability planning and optimization.
- Conducts physical inventory of assets across the Tribes offices and properties on an ongoing basis
- Oversight of interdepartmental asset coordination.
- Establishing performance standards and accountability metrics.
- Leads cross-departmental asset planning and cost forecasting.
- Identifies and implements technology solutions to improve asset oversight.
- Develops and updates asset management policies and procedures.
- Establishes internal controls and audit mechanisms.
- Oversees compliance with federal state and tribal asset management laws.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for the Tribes asset portfolio.
- Leads asset risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
- Represents the Tribe in meetings with federal agencies auditors and external consultants on asset-related matters.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality of data.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Public Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years in asset or financial management preferably with supervisory experience.
- Experience managing budgets and cross-functional teams required.
- Knowledge and practice of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
- Experience with software for asset tracking required.
- Experience working in a tribal government or Native American community preferred
- Experience with basic asset management or tracking software including scanning barcodes fixed asset systems (e.g. spreadsheets database systems or GIS) required.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training leadership development and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

- Knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to Federal grants contracts programs and funding sources preferred.
- Strong knowledge of finance accounting budgeting and cost control principles.
- Strong knowledge of automated accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Strategic visionary with sound technical skills analytical ability strong operational focus and a creative thinker.
- Strong organizational and follow up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and view information displayed on a computer screen.
- Must be proficient and accurate in operating a 10-Key calculator and in accurately and efficiently typing on a computer keyboard.
- Must be able to get along well with all levels of the organization and excel in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits- The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
