The Team
Join our established North Fraser Eating Disorder program a specialized team dedicated to supporting children and youth diagnosed with eating disorders. Youll work alongside a compassionate and dynamic group of professionals including clinicians physicians pediatricians and a team leader all focused on making a real impact. Our collaborative approach not only saves lives but fosters a supportive inclusive environment where creativity flexibility and laughter are key to our success.

The Role
As a Registered Dietitian with the North Fraser Eating Disorder program youll help clients rebuild their relationship with food and support their recovery from eating disorders like Anorexia Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Bulimia Nervosa Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (ODFED). Youll deliver evidence-based nutrition therapy in both individual and group settings working alongside a passionate interdisciplinary this role youll have the chance to make a life-changing impact while continuously growing and learning through collaboration and professional development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia or eligible to obtain membership with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia before accepting an offer of employment.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a registered dietitian in an out-patient or community setting focusing on client-centered counselling of eating disordered clients and/or mental health clients.
  • Experience in the use of relevant computer software including electronic health records and MS Office.


Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Two (2) years experience as a registered dietitian in an out-patient or community setting.
  • Experience in assessing clinical biochemical anthropometric measures dietary concerns and feeding skills as well as understanding the varied determinants of health acting on intervention plans.
  • Experience with concerns of weight fluctuations potential nutrient deficiencies feeding issues and significant nutrition related side effects of pharmacological treatments.
  • Experience in prescribing therapeutic diets for specialized mental health populations.
  • Experience with growth charts to monitor anthropometrics to prevent weight issues that impact mental health.
  • Experience working with children (aged 0-12) and youth (aged 12-19) with feeding problems/eating disorders and their caregivers.


Proviso/Willingness statements:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Drivers License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
  • Some travel for care team and discharge meetings will be required (travel within the Lower Mainland and Vancouver).
  • Will be required to work flexible hours as required including early evening work 1-2 days/week.
  • Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Ministry.
  • May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account basis.
  • May be required to travel in adverse (reasonable) weather conditions.
  • As part of the job responsibilities this position requires you to be comfortable doing meal support and eating with clients. Also need to know if you have any dietary requirement that can interfere with your ability to eat all the food groups and fun foods with the clients.
  • May be required to work with families children and youth who are distressed and facing challenges which may occasionally involve exposure to unpleasant situations or behaviour with angry abusive or abused clients; exposure to hazards from frequently working around parents and/or children in crisis who may display volatile behaviour.

About this Position:
This position is part time (0.6 FTE 42 hours biweekly).
Flexible work options are available this position may be able to work up to one or more days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is a temporary opportunity until 09/14/2026 with the possibility of extension and/or the position becoming permanent based on funding and operational needs.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
We cover the North Fraser region which includes Burnaby New Westminster Coquitlam Port Coquitlam Port Moody Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. This position will be required to work from the Ministry of Children and Family Development office located in Port Moody.
