Job Opportunity: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology
The nationally accredited cancer care program in Davenport IA is seeking a dedicated Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist to join their collaborative team. This facility provides state-of-the-art cancer treatment options including SRS SBRT IMRT DIBH gating SGRT and 3D Conformal therapies. With advanced technological resources including TomoTherapy Hi-Art and Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators this is an ideal environment for professionals passionate about providing quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
- Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care in compliance with medical standards.
- Participate in teaching and training initiatives.
- Conduct patient-specific QA chart QA and linear accelerator QA.
- Perform quality assurance of treatment plans and implement new technologies as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists Dosimetrists and therapists.
- Participate in calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators and other radiation sources.
- Work in a team comprised of physicists dosimetrists radiation therapists and nursing staff treating an average of 35 patients daily.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
- Must be registered or willing to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Clean malpractice history.
- A team player with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a license in Iowa.
- Must have certification from the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
