The nationally accredited cancer care program at a reputable facility in Davenport IA is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide team-based collaborative care within an innovative Radiation Oncology department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work full-time with a 40-hour per week schedule.
- Participate in an on-call schedule with a ratio of 1:2.
- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department ensuring equipment safety and quality patient care.
- Oversee patient-specific QA chart QA linear accelerator QA and plan checks.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including Radiation Oncologists Dosimetrists and therapists.
- Contribute to teaching activities in accordance with regulatory agencies and medical community standards.
- Engage in the calibration commissioning and quality assurance of linear accelerators and radiation sources.
- Implement new technologies as necessary to enhance patient care.
- Maintain a positive work ethic and strong teamwork skills.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- US Board Eligible (plans to become Board Certified) or Board Certified in Medical Physics by ABR or ABMP.
- Willingness to register in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Clean malpractice history.
- Open to visa sponsorship (J1 or H1B) candidates.
- Consideration will be given to candidates graduating from residency in 2025 who will be Board Eligible upon completion.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold or be willing to obtain an Iowa license as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- US Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Medical Physics by ABR or ABMP is required.
