Position Title: APS5/6 Grants Assessment Officers
Employment Type: Labour hire (Approx. 6 months with potential for extension)
Location: Canberra ACT
Hourly Pay Rate:

  • APS5: $55.31 - $58.85 per hour 12% superannuation

  • APS6: $61.22 - $73.21 per hour 12% superannuation

Security Clearance/Requirements: Minimum Baseline Security Clearance required

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client a Federal Government department is seeking multiple APS5 and APS6 Grants Assessment Officersto support the delivery of national community infrastructure programs. These programs fund a wide variety of projects that improve liveability in regional communities including sporting facilities open spaces and community priorities. The team will focus on opening and assessing a new round of community infrastructure applications and managing existing contracts under active programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support assessment of funding applications in line with program guidelines

  • Analyse and assess project proposals with attention to detail

  • Draft briefs correspondence and reports for internal stakeholders

  • Ensure records are maintained to departmental standards

  • Apply legislation and program procedures to make sound decisions

  • Assist with risk assessments and identification of mitigation strategies

  • Collaborate with team leaders to resolve complex issues

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience in grant/project assessment or management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking ability

  • Confident working with incomplete or ambiguous information

  • Experience with M365 Office Suite SharePoint and OneNote

  • Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced team environment

  • Knowledge of government processes and community infrastructure programs (desirable)

ELIGIBILITY

  • Australian Citizenship required

  • Minimum Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory
