The Office of the Ohio Public Defender is seeking a professional and motivated individual with customer service skills for an Information Technologist 1 position. The selected candidate will provide Tier 1 IT support for basic incident resolutions and requests reported to the departments service desk. The Information Technologist 1 position will be part of a three-person team who provide support to just under 200 employees in six office locations throughout the state including Columbus Athens Marietta Warren Chillicothe and Lima. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to maintain a helpful and supportive attitude and be aware of common issues and best solutions convey empathy to clients and remain calm in stressful situations and the ability to quickly respond to various IT support situations in a timely fashion.
The duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:
The OPD Helpdesk team supports 200 employees across six different work locations and you will be expected to travel to our office locations within Ohio. Travel will be completed during working hours and there is no overnight travel.
The Information Technologist 1 Position is assigned to the State of Ohios OCSEA pay schedule Pay Range 30 presented below in table format. Starting pay will be at Step 1 unless required by contract/legislation; candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for higher starting pay. Our steps give a standard path for earnings growth: you move to the next step after 6 months and annually thereafter. We typically have fiscal year Cost of Living Adjustments as well.

6 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: computers &/or electronics and/or in telecommunications performing routine analysis programming installation maintenance and/or systems support solving problems with pre-determined methods on basic hardware or software including experience providing customer support.
-Or 2 courses in computer science or information systems.
-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
