Military and Veteran Student Success:
The Office of Military and Veteran Student Success a unit within the Department of Access and Community Engagement is dedicated to providing student veterans and military-connected students with an enriching and inclusive student experience The office works with university and community partners to provide a student experience that allows student veterans and military-connected students to achieve educational and career goals through academic success and community partnerships.
The Opportunity:
The Soldiers to Scholars Program Manager I will be primarily responsible for the implementation growth and continued development of the Soldiers to Scholars program. The STSPM will monitor student veteran enrollments to ensure all mentors are in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines. This position will also be responsible for managing budget and financial transactions to support program objectives. The position must maintain a thorough working knowledge and understanding of all regulatory compliance requirements. Additionally this position will be responsible for case management and oversight of student academic success for student veterans and elementary aged participants.
Classification Title: Program Manager I
Responsibilities:
Leads strategic program planning and development for a mentorship program focused on improving educational outcomes for students in a K-5 environment. Monitors progress against program goals and objectives. Verifies progress reports and all documentation. Instrumental in developing curriculum and lesson planning to improve educational outcomes.
Oversees the daily operation of the mentorship program to include training for mentors and mentees. Provides direction to others to ensure procedures are upheld to meet all compliance standards and requirements. Develops and implements administrative standards policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring all program mentors are current on required training background clearance and onboarding in accordance with UCF Youth Protection Policies. Coordinates for training and workshops to include communications with the UCF compliance office. Develops strategies to enhance the student veteran experience and student success.
Plans coordinates and oversees the implementation of of student programming and services for the program. Reviews and recommends programming to enhance the academic experience of mentors and participants.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree and 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Education.
Familiarity with the military experience or veterans affairs.
Experience with curriculum development and K-5 elementary programs.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills including interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
