IT Helpdesk Intern (Fall 2025)

About the role

Chime is looking for an IT Helpdesk Intern to join our IT Support Team . You will gain valuable professional experience working with cutting edge cloud technology platforms and distributed systems alongside technicians with a wealth of experience to share. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical initiative at Chime.

This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. The starting hourly rate offered for this role and target level of experience will begin at $34 and up to $49. The actual base salary offered may be higher depending on your location skills qualifications and experience.

In this role you can expect to

• Respond to Tier 1 helpdesk tickets and escalate issues as needed.
• Prepare IT equipment for new hires and assist with basic setup.
• Collect and check in hardware during employee offboarding.
• Gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting common equipment issues and learn proper maintenance routines.
• Help with IAM management practices for Chimes internal user base
• Offer patient step-by-step instructions to colleagues on straightforward technical problems escalating when issues go beyond your scope
• Assist in updating IT guides and documenting simple troubleshooting steps.

To thrive in this role you have

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors/ Masters degree or bootcamp in a related field.
• Interest in learning the fundamentals of IT and how to apply those to real world situations
• Strong communication and customer services skills
• Ability to adapt to new situations quickly and effectively
• Curiosity about the world of technology and relationship to the people using it
• Ability to work 40hr/week from our beautiful San Francisco office
