Job Description
Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - Hematology Oncology
Join a leading outpatient practice in Wheaton Maryland specializing in Hematology and Oncology at the Holy Cross Health Cancer Center. The practice operates 3-5 days a week 8 hours per day providing a supportive environment for both patients and practitioners. With a dedicated team that includes a part-time Hem-Onc a breast surgeon and surgical oncologists youll be contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical care to adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting.
- Participate in Tumor Boards to discuss treatment plans.
- Order and interpret tests and images.
- Prescribe medications as necessary.
- Manage specific procedures such as biopsies and chemotherapy administration.
- Collaborate with medical assistants navigators and social workers to enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
- Active Maryland State License (REQUIRED at time of submission).
- DEA and CDS credentials (REQUIRED at time of submission).
- BLS or ACLS certification (REQUIRED for privileges).
- Experience in Hematology/Oncology preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active MD State License.
- Active MD DEA and CDS.
- BLS or ACLS certification.
- Board certification in relevant specialty is a plus.
