About the Area

The Media & Public Relations Unit is at the heart of building trust connection and pride in UOW. Part of the Advancement and Communications Division the team amplifies UOWs reputation by connecting journalists with world-class experts generating influential coverage and showcasing the universitys contributions to society. From producing content across UOWs owned channels to hosting roundtables shaping press events and developing original ideas to engage audiences the team ensures UOW is seen heard and trusted on issues that matter.

About the Role

With a new Vice-Chancellor fresh vision and bold strategy there has never been a more exciting time to join UOWs media team.

Were looking for a stand-out communicator and natural connectorsomeone who thrives on networking building relationships and spotting opportunities to put UOWs expertise and impact in the spotlight.

As a Media and Public Relations Specialist you will:

  • Drive proactive media campaigns that amplify UOWs leadership innovation and societal impact.
  • Build thought leadership opportunities for our academics and executives across national and international platforms.
  • Shape and pitch compelling stories that resonate with journalists and diverse audiences.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to spokespeople helping them shine in high-profile settings.
  • Contribute directly to UOWs Vision 2035 and Strategic Plan 2030 ensuring a strong unified voice across all media channels.
