Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Medicine Hospitalist to provide comprehensive medical care in an inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible experienced in patient-centered hospital medicine and dedicated to delivering high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Provide full-spectrum inpatient medical care including diagnosis treatment and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
Ensure patient safety compliance with standards of care and adherence to hospital protocols.
Develop and implement patient care plans tailored to medical social and emotional needs.
Participate in quality assurance (QA) and performance improvement (PI) initiatives.
Collaborate with specialists nurses and hospital staff to coordinate effective patient care.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Participate in emergency response procedures as needed.
Primary Skills:
Strong expertise in general hospital medicine.
Proficiency in developing patient care plans and applying evidence-based medicine.
Effective decision-making under stress and emergency situations.
Leadership and problem-solving skills.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Knowledge of pediatric care practices and related equipment.
Familiarity with infection control hazardous materials handling and hospital safety procedures.
Experience with quality improvement methods and hospital QI programs.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Completion of a three-year hospital residency program.
Board certification or board eligibility in internal medicine.
Valid State of Nevada License to practice medicine.
State of Nevada Pharmacy Board License to prescribe medications.
DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
Required certifications: BLS (within 3 months of hire) ACLS (within 1 year of hire).
Preferred certifications: NRP and PALS from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of federal state local and accreditation regulations and standards.
Familiarity with patient rights emergency response policies and hospital safety practices.
Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals.
Ability to use computers and related clinical software applications.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in office and patient care settings.
Ability to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods.
Visual ability to read printed materials and electronic displays.
Hearing and speech sufficient to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force regularly.
Exposure to a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
