Insurance Agent
Location: Gillette WY (Remote work may be considered)
Salary Range: $75000 $110000 annually
About the Role
We are seeking a licensed and experienced Insurance Agent to manage and optimize all insurance-related matters for our client. This role offers the opportunity to act as an in-house broker ensuring comprehensive coverage minimizing risk and negotiating favorable policies that support both operational and strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of commercial insurance professional liability and self-insurance programs. This is a pivotal role for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced multi-industry environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain all active insurance policies including general liability workers compensation malpractice property auto umbrella and other lines of coverage.
- Administer the companys self-insurance plan including claims review reserves tracking performance analysis and compliance oversight.
- Serve as the internal insurance broker by identifying negotiating and securing new or supplemental coverage as needed.
- Conduct risk assessments analyze potential coverage gaps and develop strategies to mitigate exposure.
- Act as the primary point of contact for claims handling coordinating with carriers adjusters and legal counsel to ensure efficient resolution.
- Manage renewals endorsements premium payments and accurate recordkeeping of all insurance documentation.
- Stay current with federal and state regulations to ensure compliance across all policies.
- Deliver clear reports and recommendations to leadership regarding insurance program status claims activity and overall risk exposure.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No direct reports initially; future leadership opportunities may evolve as the department grows.
- Collaborate with leadership and department heads to assess evolving insurance needs.
Qualifications
Education Certifications & Licenses
- Bachelors degree in business Finance Risk Management or related field (preferred).
- Licensed Insurance Agent (required).
- Brokers license or professional certifications such as CPCU ARM or equivalent (a plus).
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance brokerage or risk management.
- Proven track record managing multiple lines of business insurance ideally including healthcare and construction sectors.
- Familiarity with self-insurance programs and regulatory frameworks.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with expertise in risk assessment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational capabilities.
- Proficient in insurance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to balance independent work with cross-departmental collaboration.
