The role

We are looking to appoint a Recruitment Business Partner to join the Raspberry Pi Foundations People and Culture team to help us realise our ambitious plans for expanding our impact around the world.

Reporting to the Director of People and Culture and working with colleagues from across the organisation you will be responsible for partnering with hiring managers and managing the end-to-end recruitment process from the attraction of candidates to the induction of new colleagues.

You will support recruitment in all markets in which we employ people including India Ireland Kenya the UK and US.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced recruiter who has a passion for delivering great candidate experience and supporting hiring managers to hire top talent.

This is a fixed-term contract to provide cover for a colleague who is due to go on family leave. The contract period has been extended to provide ample opportunity for handover at each end of the contract.

This is an office based role working from our HQ in central Cambridge. Candidates will need to be able to work at least three days per week from the office.

Responsibilities

  • Working with hiring managers providing training coaching and support throughout the recruitment process and ensuring that they follow our Recruitment Playbook and other relevant policies.
  • Making sure that job descriptions are accurate and engaging to help us attract the best candidates.
  • Advertising roles to maximise applications from high quality candidates including ensuring that job boards are fully utilised.
  • Responsible for the applicant tracking system (ATS) and making sure it is up to date at all times.
  • Screening applications and shortlisting candidates for manager review.
  • Developing and implementing ideas to increase the proportion of eligible candidates and reduce applications from ineligible candidates.
  • Ensure we always recruit colleagues with the correct right to work and perform right-to-work checks for candidates before the offer stage.
  • Support the onboarding processes ensuring all new colleagues receive the best onboarding and feel welcomed into the organisation.
  • Support the Foundations apprenticeship programme working with managers to develop opportunities for apprentice roles.
  • Collect benchmarking data for roles to ensure we remain competitive.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment companies as required.

Experience and personal attributes

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a recruitment role ideally in the education technology or not-for-profit sectors
  • Experience recruiting in a number of different countries ideally including India Kenya the UK and US
  • Experience with screening candidates for hiring manager review including dealing with very high volumes of candidates
  • Able to understand the requirements for a diverse range of roles
  • Experience of coaching hiring managers including on the design of job roles and recruitment processes
  • Experience of developing work based assessments that support better hiring decisions
  • Experience of working with an applicant tracking system (we currently use workable)

Our recruitment process

  • As part of your application you will be asked to respond to a small number of questions that we will use to screen your eligibility for the role. You will also be asked to provide your cv and a short cover letter.

  • A small number of candidates will be invited to a phone call with the hiring manager. The purpose of this call is to check our understanding of your application and to answer any questions you have.
  • We normally have two interviews at least one of which will take place in-person. Interviews will be with the hiring manager and at least one other colleague.
  • You will usually be asked to undertake a work-based assessment in advance of your interviews. This will be an opportunity for you to show how you would perform some part of the role. You will be given advance notice and clear instructions.
