Job Description

Job Description:

The Department of Community Health and Family Medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida is seeking a Manager of Health Care Administration.

This position supports the departments clinical mission through strategic project management operational oversight and performance analysis. The role will evaluate clinical processes lead implementation of improvement initiatives and supervise the departments coding and reimbursement team. The Manager of Health Care Administration will work directly with the Chair Vice Chairs Practice Managers and other leaders within the organization to inform decision-making through data analysis financial modeling and operational tracking.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities across core and regional clinics including areas related to HR finance facilities quality and capital planning
  • Develop and manage dashboards reports and data analyses to monitor clinic performance
    Lead projects aligned with department goals including new clinic assessments staffing analyses and financial feasibility studies
  • Deliver presentations progress reports and documentation for strategic projects
  • Analyze revenue and expense trends to inform financial decision-making and support budget planning
  • Supervise the Coding and Reimbursement Manager and provide leadership on revenue cycle optimization
  • Participate in inventory tracking and space allocation initiatives across departmental locations
  • Support the Vice Chair of Administration (VCA) in managing various strategies and initiatives.
  • Managing strategies initiatives designs implementation and analysis of processes for clinical programs in partnership with the VCA.
  • This position requires the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies tools and processes in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Success in the role depends on strong planning organization and coordination skills as well as the effective use of project management tools to manage complex assignments.
  • The ability to consistently follow established protocols policies and procedures is essential. The position also demands analytical problem-solving skills to address challenges involving systems people or processes.
  • This is a salaried exempt position and hours may vary. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. And occasional 7:00 am meetings. The estimated hours per week are 40-50. This position will involve some travel locally and regionally due to clinical program responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and regulations including state and federal clinical practice requirements.
  • Proficient with: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems all Microsoft Office Suite software and creating reports
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory environments including clinical billing and compliance
  • Experience managing coding or revenue cycle staff in a clinical environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills emotional intelligence and ability to cultivate relationships with leadership and staff.
