Job Description
We are seeking an experienced detail-oriented estimator to join our team at one of the premier glass and glazing subcontractors in the Northeast. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial exterior envelope and interior glazing projects including curtain wall storefront windows unitized curtain wall exterior panels and all interior specialty glazing systems. This role plays a critical part in securing profitable work and supporting project planning efforts. This role also involves developing and maintaining strategic relationships with leading general contractors and consultants throughout the Northeast positioning the company competitively for project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and cultivate bid opportunities consistent with backlog needs
- Develop bid strategies to provide competitive advantages on opportunities
- Develop and nurture relationships with key decision makers in the GC community
- Analyze architectural drawings specifications and project documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and apply appropriate labor material and equipment costs.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing for glass aluminum systems hardware sealants and related components.
- Collaborate with project managers engineers and drafters to develop value-engineering solutions when needed.
- Participate in bid strategy meetings and coordinate bid submissions within deadlines.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and estimating templates.
- Assist in preconstruction meetings and support handoff to project management teams.
- Stay current with industry trends material pricing and market conditions.
Qualifications
- 5 years of estimating experience in the commercial construction industry preferably in glass and glazing.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within team-oriented environments.
- Proven ability to adapt and evolve work approaches in response to the ever-changing nature of the glazing industry.
- Strong knowledge of glazing systems including stick-built curtain wall unitized curtain wall storefront window wall and interior glass systems.
- Strong knowledge of metal and composite panel systems including aluminum plate ACM cementitious panels and architectural panel products.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural specifications and proficiency of waterproofing and thermal requirements is critical
- Strong general computer skills (e.g. Bluebeam Excel Procore).
- Excellent attention to detail organization and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or related field.
- Understanding of current building codes and industry standards related to glass and glazing.
