We are seeking a skilled Fire Suppression Design Engineereither Senior or Junior level depending on experienceto design and oversee special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD 2D/3D and proprietary fire protection software.
- Ensure designs comply with local state and national fire codes as well as manufacturer standards.
- Direct contractors during installation and system operation to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Conduct job site surveys to verify proper system layout and installation.
- Review and implement customer-supplied project specifications accurately.
- Attend manufacturer training classes and other continuing education programs to stay updated on industry standards.
- Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals.
- Update and maintain existing system drawings.
- Support office staff with engineering-related tasks including process improvements.
- Assist with system inspections maintenance startups and commissioning as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in the fire protection industry designing special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems (sprinkler-only designers will not be considered).
- Previous experience as a Design Engineer.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D drafting; working knowledge of 3D design software.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Enthusiasm to learn industry standards and pursue professional certifications such as NICET.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field.
- NICET Certification in Fire Protection Engineering.
