JOB SUMMARY

As a Sr. Cloud Engineer you will play a pivotal role in designing implementing and managing cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust scalable and secure cloud infrastructure and services. Your expertise in Azure will be crucial in driving our cloud strategy and ensuring the reliability and performance of our cloud environments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Cloud Architecture and Design:

  • Design and architect scalable secure and cost-effective cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams design documents and runbooks.
  • Implement Azure best practices including the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework.

2. Deployment and Automation:

  • Deploy and manage Azure resources using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform ARM Templates Bicep and PowerShell.
  • Automate cloud operations and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

3. Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and manage security measures and controls including Azure Security Center Azure Policy and Azure Defender.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g. PCI-DSS SOX HIPAA) through effective governance and policy management.

4. Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications using Azure Monitor Log Analytics and Application Insights.
  • Optimize performance scalability and cost-effectiveness of Azure resources.

5. Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with development operations and security teams to integrate and support cloud solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers and other team members.

6. Incident Management and Troubleshooting:

  • Manage and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents and outages.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with the latest Azure features services and best practices.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance cloud infrastructure and services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure as code tools (Terraform ARM Templates Bicep PowerShell).
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking security and identity management.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor Log Analytics Application Insights).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proven track record of working in cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Azure DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
