What Youll Do

The Marketplaces team at Authentic seeks a highly strategic and results-orientedDirector Marketplaces - EMEAI to lead the expansion and optimisation of our brands across key online marketplaces in Europe. This pivotal role will be responsible for identifying developing and managing new marketplace partnerships ensuring the accelerated and incremental growth of Authentic s iconic brands while safeguarding brand positioning and reputational integrity within the dynamic European e-commerce landscape.

What Youll be Working on

Strategic Partnership Development & Management:

  • Identify evaluate and prioritise new marketplace partnership opportunities across the EMEAI region (e.g. Amazon Europe Zalando and other strategic local and regional platforms).
  • Lead negotiations for direct partnerships securing robust brand protections favourable commercial terms and ensuring alignment with Authentics global marketplace strategy.
  • Develop and present compelling business cases for new marketplace integrations outlining potential for incremental revenue and brand elevation.

Marketplace Growth & Operational Excellence:

  • Collaborate closely with Authentics partners to onboard brands onto new marketplaces and optimise existing presences driving accelerated growth.
  • Improve key operational inputs with partners across selection availability fulfilment speed and price competitiveness on EU marketplaces.
  • Work with partners to develop and execute sophisticated marketplace-specific advertising strategies leveraging emerging technologies like AI shopping and Generative AI for content enablement to enhance visibility and conversion.

Brand & Channel Risk Management:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on EU marketplace dynamics including channel segmentation
  • Implement proactive strategies to maintain consistent brand positioning and premium customer experiences across diverse marketplace environments.
  • Address and mitigate brand reputational risks associated with operations and global trade complexities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance including regional consumer protection trade and data-privacy regulations location specific.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Authentics central marketplace team licensee partners and external marketplaces in EMEAI
  • Share best practices insights and market intelligence across the organisation to foster a culture of marketplace expertise.

Innovation & Market Intelligence:

  • Stay at the forefront of the latest e-commerce marketplace technologies and trends in the EU including AI Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) social commerce headless/composable commerce architectures and Web3 applications.
  • Identify and champion opportunities to pilot innovative marketplace features or programs to gain competitive advantage and enhance brand presence.

Must Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Business Marketing E-commerce or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in e-commerce with at least 5 years specifically focused on marketplace management partnerships or strategic account management within the European market.
  • Proven track record of successfully scaling brands and driving significant revenue growth on major online marketplaces (e.g. Amazon EU Zalando ASOS Otto etc.).
  • Deep understanding of marketplace algorithms advertising models fulfilment networks and channel segmentation strategies.
  • Exceptional negotiation analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Outstanding communication presentation and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of brand management principles and proven ability to manage brand integrity and mitigate reputational risks in complex online environments.
  • An understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements such as regional consumer protection trade and data-privacy regulations.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in one or more major European languages preferred.
  • Experience with AI/Generative AI applications in e-commerce or a strong interest in emerging e-commerce technologies is a significant advantage.
