Do you believe in the power of community to change lives Are you passionate about advancing equity inclusion and justice Fenway Health is seeking a Gifts Officer to join our mission-driven Development team and help fuel transformative programs that make a difference every day. As a Gifts Officer youll develop and lead strategies to cultivate engage and steward a diverse portfolio of donors who share our vision of a healthier more just world. Youll play a key role in growing leadership-level giving and building meaningful relationships with supporters who are deeply invested in Fenways work.


Representative Duties:

  • Develops a comprehensive strategy for individual giving program with particular attention to the Fenway Leadership Circle program but including all donor circles including Young Leaders Council and others to be determined/created
  • Researches and identifies individual and major gifts prospects
  • Cultivates these prospects
  • Manages a portfolio of individual donors and supports EVP Development and External Relations with their portfolio including providing insights tracking relationships and advising on cultivation solicitation and stewardship when appropriate
  • Conducts personal solicitations of donors and prospects and enlists Director of Development and EVP when appropriate
  • Provide high-touch cultivation and stewardship activities to retain or attract donors ensures that donors receive proper acknowledgement and recognition
  • Serve as liaison to the Development Committee; manages their fundraising activities and enlist their assistance in developing the leadership annual giving program improving event attendance etc.
  • Monitor FLC gift activity and produce regular reporting to share with Development staff
  • Work closely with Events team to improve conversion of event participants to annual and major donors
  • Maintain donor records in donor databases and build out donor profiles for sharing with Development team and CEO when appropriate

Performs other strategic duties in support of the individual and planned giving programs

  • Oversee production of all FLC mail appeals and collateral materials
  • Collaborate with Director of Development on planned giving program
  • Develops and builds out recognition program for different giving levels
  • Develop intimate knowledge of Fenway Healths programs and services by attending meetings joining committees and maintain relationships and rapport with Fenway Health staff and program leadership

Performs other related duties as required

Requirements
  • 2-3 years of fundraising experience with an emphasis on donor cultivation and solicitation
  • Demonstrable history of building relationships with donors and closing individual gifts
  • Knowledge of philanthropic landscape and emerging ideas in fundraising work
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with others and to exhibit strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to articulate Fenways mission and position effectively to diverse audiences
  • Strong planning administrative and organizational skills; ability to manage time efficiently meet deadlines work independently and within a team; ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to meet with donors and attend both internal and external events
  • Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with colleagues patients clients and vendors across the spectrum of diversity including but not limited to race ethnicity color gender identity sexual orientation age socio-economic status national origin and immigrant status religious or spiritual identity disability (physical mental emotional and developmental) veteran status and/or limited English proficiency.
  • Willingness to contribute towards Fenways efforts in becoming an anti-racist organization and promoting a culture dedicated to ongoing development in service of humility equity diversity inclusion and belonging where differences are acknowledged and valued.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working with an ethnically culturally and racially diverse work staff preferred
