Description

Cimarron is seeking a StructuralBlast Engineerto support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design construction and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB CA F.E. Warren AFB WY Malmstrom AFB MT and Minot AFB ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nations aging ground-based leg of the nuclear triad - the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is anon-siteposition that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e. every other Friday off) paid overtime and an outstanding work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area a relocation allowance can be provided.

Cimarron is offering a $5000 referral bonus for all full-time hires for this opportunity!

Key Duties:

  • Perform formal structural calculations primarily related to blast loads.
  • Develop concrete and steel structural designs and produce associated drawings.
  • Design foundations and prepare detailed foundation drawings.
  • Review customer and vendor information from subcontractors and incorporate it into design solutions.
  • Develop design configuration packages to support configuration control change management and procurement activities.
  • Execute tasks in alignment with schedule requirements while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines to plan and execute work as part of an integrated project team.


Requirements

Required Skills Experience and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid unexpired Real ID-compliant drivers license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your drivers license or state ID.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • 4 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs VISIO and other common computer programs
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in applying structural engineering design concepts to real-world projects.
  • Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.

Desired Skills Experience and Education:

  • Experience designing seismic bracing and supports.
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
  • Priorexperience working with government agencies preferably the Department of Defense.
  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1 MIL-Q-9858A or ISO-9000.
  • Knowledge of the use of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
  • Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States.
  • Intermediate understanding of developing CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact.
