Job Description

Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Nuclear Medicine
Schedule: Monday Friday 07:00 15:30 40 hours per week

Our Nuclear Medicine department utilizes state-of-the-art technology and clinical expertise to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team.

Position Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals operating imaging equipment ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality diagnostic images. This role requires strong technical knowledge attention to detail and adherence to radiation safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate gamma cameras and related equipment to detect and map radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging.

  • Position patients and select anatomic/technical factors to ensure accurate results.

  • Order prepare administer and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to protocols and safety standards.

  • Follow all radiation safety guidelines to protect patients staff and self.

  • Submit high-quality images and accurate documentation to PACS ensuring correct patient identifiers and lead markers.

  • Monitor and maintain equipment functionality; promptly report malfunctions and when necessary initiate lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to support timely and effective patient care.

Qualifications

  • ARRT (N) or CNMT certification required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience.

  • Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety procedures.

  • Excellent communication organizational and patient-care skills.
